The Georgia Center for Healthier Communities is committed to building a healthier Georgia through thoughtful analysis, sound policy, strategic partnerships and community investment. But to do this, we need you to stand with us as advocates for stronger Georgia communities.
What is advocacy?
At its core, advocacy is the strategy used around the world by nonprofit groups, activists and policymakers to influence policies. Advocacy is about creation or reform of policies, as well as effective implementation and enforcement of policies. A policy is a plan, course of action or set of regulations adopted by government, business or an institution, designed to influence and determine decisions or procedures.
Where do you fit?
You deserve a voice in the process, as the policies enacted by local, state and federal government affect your life in every way. Engage your officials.
